Become a Cask Club Member and have an opportunity to purchase your own 53-gallon private barrel of whiskey and then follow its path to maturity!
Charis Winery and Distillery is offering a limited opportunity to own your own private barrel of craft whiskey made from local heirloom grain that is distilled and aged in Cumberland Maryland. Whether you are a whiskey connoisseur that owns a tantalizing collection, a whiskey club, or a passionate group of friends that enjoy whiskey together, owning your own barrel of whiskey is one experience that few people get to enjoy. The Charis Cask Club is the opportunity to own your own private barrel of whiskey and to enjoy the experience of creating your special whiskey as you and/or your group decide when it is ready to be bottled.
Why join the Charis Cask Club?
The Charis Cask Club is a limited and exclusive opportunity to own a 53-gallon barrel of whiskey made in the Maryland Appalachian Mountains. The Charis Cask Club is limited to 30 barrels with each barrel owner being an individual or a group. The program will run until all barrels have been allocated. As barrels are aged and bottled, Cask Club slots will become available for additional barrels as time and/or space allows.
There is no limit to the number of owners per barrel; therefore, a club or group may purchase a barrel and share in the experience and the product.
Charis Cask Club whiskey is made using heirloom and standard grains grown regionally within 50 miles of Charis Distillery. The Charis Cask Club will offer Bourbon and other styles of whiskey, which once distilled will be filled into virgin oak barrels. The oak barrels will contain 53 gallons of spirit at 51.% abv (102 Proof). A loss of 14% is anticipated during the first four years of aging, resulting in a final product yield of approximately 240 bottles (less if bottled at cask strength or left in the barrel for a longer period).
What is included?
The Charis Cask Club membership price includes:
The length of time you age your cask is up to you, which allows you the ultimate decision maker for the final flavor of your whiskey. You may visit the distillery up to three times per year to take samples and appraise your cask’s progress. Whiskey cannot be removed from bond until the excise tax is paid and may remain at the distillery for a maximum of five years.
